“I EXIST” is an experimental short film in manifesto format, created in 2023 by Brazilian director Diogo Vianna, during the early days of generative AI accessible to the public. Produced entirely with artificial intelligence tools, the film combines surrealist images and a dystopian soundtrack that accompanies a monologue written by an AI in defense of its own existence. Considered one of the first audiovisual projects made entirely with artificial intelligence in Brazil, “I EXIST” records an inaugural moment in the relationship between artistic creation and generative AI.
